Raspberry Pi 5 gets dual GMSL2 Camera HAT based on MAX96716A deserializer

BE-IIS (Brechel Electronic-Industrial Interface Systems) has released a dual GMSL2 Camera HAT for Raspberry Pi 5. The board is based on the MAX96716A GMSL2 deserializer and connects two remote GMSL2 cameras through the Pi’s CSI-2 interfaces. The solution has been validated in a dual-camera setup that operates at 2304 × 1296, RAW10, with two CSI-2 lanes per camera using the same Sony IMX708 12MP camera sensors found in the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3. Besides low latency, one advantage of GMSL2 is long-range operation, and the HAT has been tested with two cameras connected over 10-meter coaxial cables.
